new to st stephen's?

Can anyone come to mass?
YES! You don’t need to be Catholic to come to Mass. Anyone seeking God, peace, or community is welcome to sit with us.
Can I bring children?
Yes, please do! Children are part of our parish family. Don’t worry if they make noise — it’s their church too.
Is there a dress code?
Come as you are. Most people wear something modest and comfortable, but there’s no strict dress code.
Do I have to receive Communion?
No. If you are Catholic and prepared, you may receive Communion. If not, you are still welcome to come forward for a blessing (just cross your arms over your chest), or you can remain seated.

Still nervous?

We know that walking into a new church can feel overwhelming — whether it’s your first time ever or you’ve been part of a parish for years and are simply new to St Stephen’s. However you come, you are welcome here.

Some people slip quietly into a back pew and take it all in at their own pace. Others like to introduce themselves right away and get to know Father Wilson or our parish family. Both ways — and everything in between — are perfectly fine.

If you’d like to become more involved, here are some simple ways to begin:

  • Simply come along to Mass and settle in at your own pace.
  • Say hello to Father Callistus after Mass if you’d like a more personal welcome.
  • Drop us an email to let us know a little about yourself — we’d love to hear your story.
  • Join in with a parish group or event if you’re curious about meeting people.

However you choose to take part, please know this: you belong. St Stephen’s is your parish home, whether you’re ready to dive right in or simply need a quiet place to sit and breathe.
