Sick & Retired Clergy Appeal for Second Collection
For this appeal we have created printed leaflets to be shared in church, and we have shared more information on the diocesan website and social media, but we need help to reach as many parishioners as possible.

WhatsApp guidance for parishes
We are aware that many parishes have asked parishioners to join or create groups using WhatsApp in order to communicate effectively. In response to some issues that have arisen from these groups in our diocese and other dioceses we are providing some guidance for the use of WhatsApp.

Homelessness - Write to your MP
As part of their latest campaign to support people in our diocese who are homeless, Caritas Salford - our diocesan charity - has put together information on how you can write to your MP to call for change. They are asking for help from people in our parishes, and would like as many as possible to call for Local Housing Allowance rates to be unfrozen and uplifted in line with local rents. The current rates are a significant driver of homelessness, and a letter to your MP could help bring about change to support local families and adults at risk. Greater Manchester Churches Together Annual Assembly
GMCT invites you to their Annual Assembly on Wednesday 14 October 2026. Entitled ''The Quiet Revival' there will be a presentation by the Bible Society and Q&A sessions on Engaging with Young People and Engaging with Children.
The event will be held at Salford Cathedral Centre, 3 Ford Street, Salford, M3 6DP from 6.30PM to 9PM. Parking will be available on site.
