CHILDREN'S liturgy
At St Stephen’s, we want every child to feel at home in church. Our Children’s Liturgy offers a gentle, joyful way for our youngest parishioners to hear God’s Word in language they understand, helping them grow in faith while feeling fully included in our Sunday worship.
What Is Children’s Liturgy?Children’s Liturgy is a short, child-friendly celebration of the Liturgy of the Word that takes place during the main Sunday Mass at 10:30 am
Partway through Mass, the priest invites the children to come forward. With a blessing, they head out with our trained leaders to the parish room for around 15–20 minutes.. |
There, they:
The children return to church in time for the Liturgy of the Eucharist, reunited with their families before Communion.
- Hear the Bible retold in simple, clear language
- Talk about what it means for them at home, at school, and with friends
- Share prayers and reflections
- Take part in a small activity that helps them connect with the message
